Hidden Words Activity - Chameleon colour changing markers

Colour changing or magic pens are absolutely fun and allow your little one to  colour change their drawings while keeping them busy for hours on end.

A really awesome way to help your young ones to recognise and read new words is to have them practice as much as possible but at the same time you don't want to make it a chore. I recently came across an activity called "Hidden Words" and the kids literally begged to play it over and over again!

All you need is your pack of Chameleon colour changing markers and some sheets of scrap paper or a scrap notebook. Use the magic (white) side of the marker to write down different words on paper, which will remain invisible until your little one colours over the top to discover the hidden word. For beginner readers you may use some 3 letter CVC words so that they can first discover them and then try sounding them out. This method can be used to hide just about anything from shapes, numbers, letters and even a secret message...
